Indian Railway is called the life line. Railway is the first choice for countrymen to travel. Every class of people wants to travel in train, but do you know what changes have been made in the trains running by Indian Railway after Corona period. Let us tell you that the Railways has increased the number of AC Coaches in its important trains. Along with this, the number of sleeper coaches has also been reduced.
Now the question is what is the type of AC coach that looks like from outside. So let us explain to you that there are four types of AC coaches installed in trains. Apart from 1st AC, 2nd AC and 3rd AC, Railways has started new economy class coaches. All these coaches are air-conditioned, which makes traveling in the summer season a pleasant experience. Let us tell the characteristics of these different classes of coaches.
1A First Class AC Coach
Important long distance trains are fitted with first class (1A) air-conditioned coaches. Passengers have to pay more to travel in this class. This coach of Indian Railways is the most expensive. This first class coach has two and four seater berths. Those having four berths are called cabins. At the same time, the two-berth is called a coupe. The number of coupes in the coach is 2. Some have a single coupe. Similarly, the number of cabins with four berths is four. It does not have a side berth. Total number of berths is 24. Its seat width is also more comfortable than other class coaches.
There is a staircase to the upper berth. Reading lamps are also installed on each berth. The cabin and coupe also get fitted doors. Each cabin and coupe is carpeted. There is also a dustbin to dispose of waste. Not only this, a bell button is provided to call the coach attendant. This coach also has a bathing facility. You can take a bath with hot or cold water.
When you take a ticket in AC First, only Confirm is written on it, as this coach is considered Executive Class. In this, first priority is given to the VVIPs of the country. You will know the birth number only after the chart is prepared. Not only this, if you want to take a coupe with two berths, you have to give a request letter to the railways along with the reason. If it is suitable, Railways allocates you a coupe. First AC consists of A to H cabins and coupes. The number of four and two berths within it ranges from 1 to 24. The running ticket inspector of the train has the right to change your berth number according to the VIP movement.
2A Second Class AC Coach
Second class air conditioned coach fare is less than first class coach. In trains they are one or two in number. It has lower and upper four berths in one compartment. It has lower and side upper two berths on its right side. The number of berths in this is 46/52. Hence, the number of passengers in 2A coach is also less. Talking about the facilities, its berth is also comfortable and spacious. Instead of doors, each of its compartments is fitted with curtains. Sheets, blankets, pillows and small towels (bedrolls) are also provided during the journey. Reading lamps and mobile charging points are installed on each berth.
3A Third Class AC Coach
Indian Railways has installed 3A i.e. third class coaches in trains to enjoy air-conditioned travel in trains at cheaper rates. The number of passengers traveling in this coach is high. Especially middle class people like to travel in it. Considering the high demand of this class of coaches, Railways has increased the number of third class air-conditioned coaches to 6 in important trains. At the same time, the number of sleeper classes has been reduced. Talking about the facilities, the total number of seats is also 72. A compartment has 6 berths. There are two lower, two middle and two upper berths. Opposite it are 2 berths lower side upper. In this, there are no curtains in the compartment like 2A second class. Passengers traveling in this class are also provided with bedroll. There are also reading lamps and charging points.
How to identify different categories of coaches
While traveling, the biggest problem passengers face is finding their coach. Let us tell you how you will identify 1st AC, 2nd AC and 3rd AC when the train starts. Suppose your ticket is first class. Berths in 1A are air-conditioned. To identify it, the Railways has installed a display board between the coaches, on which H1 is written. Similarly, A1 is written on the coach of AC 2. B1 is written on the coach of AC 3. When the number of coaches is increased, it is made A2 or B2. Apart from this, coach display boards are also installed at the station before the arrival of the train, where your bogie will stand.
Railways have fixed passenger fares for different classes of coaches in trains. Traveling in AC First is like traveling in an airplane. Let us tell you that if you want to travel from Samastipur to New Delhi, passengers have to pay 3500 rupees for AC 1. Similarly, for AC 2 2070, for AC 3, it will be Rs 1455.
