Google is preparing to shut down two services Google Pay and Google VPN service. However, Indian users will not be affected by the shutdown of both services. Google Pay service will continue as before.
Google Google is gearing up for a big shake-up in June. In fact, Google is going to shut down two of its most popular services in June, affecting millions of users. However, what impact will the shutdown of Google's services in June have on Indian users? Google Pay and the Google VPN service are being discontinued in June. Let's find out why these services are being phased out.
Google VPN service
The Google-owned Google One VPN service will be discontinued from June 20, 2024. This service has never been launched in India. In such a case, Indian users will not be affected by Google VPN service shutdown. Google will continue to offer free Pixel VPN service to Pixel 7 series users. This includes the Google Pixel 7, Google Pixel 7 Pro, Google Pixel 7a and Fold smartphones.
Google Pay
The Google Pay app will be shut down in the US from June 4 this year. However, in markets like India and Singapore, Google Pay will continue to work as before. Users using the Google Pay app in India and Singapore need not worry. Google Wallet will be offered instead of Google Pay service in the American market. Google Wallet service has also been launched in India recently, but both Google Pay and Google will work as separate services in India. This means that Indian Google Pay app users will be able to transact money without any restrictions.
Why is the Google Pay app shutting down?
The main reason for shutting down the Google Pay app in the US is that the company wants to promote Google Wallet. Also, the company wants to make online payments easier for its users. This is the reason why Google is shutting down the Google Pay app. But Google doesn't want to take such a risk in case of India, as India is a big market for Google Pay. Also Google Pay is the second largest online platform.
