Due to the dry air and fog, the basil starts to dry up a bit. A dried basil plant is considered inauspicious. Here are some tips to prevent basil plants from drying up in winter.

While watering basil plants in winter, make sure that the water is slightly lukewarm. If possible mix some raw milk in water and sprinkle that water in Tulsi. By doing this, the basil plant will retain moisture and remain green.

The leaves in the basil plant should be removed when they are dry. It is believed that the people of the house where dry cats live in the basil plant suffer from mental illness. Also, basil plants are also damaged by dry cat. Therefore, by removing the cat, the growth of the basil plant is improved.

Basil can be planted in any season, but September to November is considered the best time to plant basil. Apart from this, keep in mind that when you ask for basil leaves from a nursery or someone to plant at home, they are fresh leaves. That is to say, it should not be a big plant because then its roots are developed and its leaves will not develop well no matter how you plant it.

If the basil plant is placed outside the house or on the balcony, it should be brought indoors during the cold season. A lamp should be placed near the Tulsi plant every morning and evening so that it gets heat. Make the lamp last longer.

By keeping cow dung in the Tulsi plant, the Tulsi plant remains green perennially. And for this you have to first dry the cow dung and then put it in the ground in its powder form. This will act as a natural fertilizer and it will easily get basil plant seedlings in the home garden.

Press the soil into the pot and fill it completely, it will settle the soil well and the plant will not fall. After filling the soil up to the top, make a deep hole in the middle and plant a basil plant in it. Cover the roots with soil and press the soil down well. Water the plant daily and keep it in shade for 2 to 3 months. Then you can keep it in normal sun.

Always keep an earthen pot, don't choose a pot made of cement etc. Plants grow faster in soil pots. Apart from this, use similar soil for planting, but do not use yellow soil. It gets wet instantly. It does not make the plant grow.

Take 90 percent soil and 10 percent compost and mix it well. If the soil is wet or sticky, take 60 percent clay and 30 percent black soil and 10 percent compost. You can also use compost, but do not use chemical fertilizers. Tulsi is an Ayurvedic herb so chemical fertilizers can destroy its properties.

Dig a little around the basil plant with a spade at least once a week. By doing this, the basil plant will get the essential nutrients and stay green for a long time. To protect the tulsi plant from frost, on the day of Ekadashi in the month of Kartak, cover the tulsi with some heavy mulch. So that the basil plant does not rot.
