The government of Iran has announced free travel visa conditions for Indian citizens on Tuesday, February 6. Travelers will be allowed to enter by air and stay for a maximum of 15 days. In December 2023, Iran made a special announcement for citizens of 33 countries to promote tourism.
These 33 countries include India, Russia, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Brazil and Mexico among others. Iran's Minister of Culture, Tourism and Handicrafts Ejatullah Jargami said that this decision has been taken with the aim of promoting tourism. So that more number of foreign citizens can come to visit Iran.

Only 15 days stay allowed
The Iranian government made a statement regarding the new conditions of free travel visas, the Iranian embassy said that visas for Indian citizens have been terminated from February 4 under 4 conditions. The Iranian government has said that Indians holding ordinary passports will be allowed to enter Iran without a visa once every 6 months, with a stay of only 15 days. The visa expiry rule applies only to Indians entering Iran by air. This rule applies only to Indians coming to Iran for the purpose of tourism.
A visa must be obtained from the Iranian mission
If an Indian citizen wants to stay in Iran for a longer period of time and enter Iran more than 6 months, requiring other type of visa, he/she has to obtain the required visa from the Iranian Mission in India.
