Traveling on the roof of the train
According to Indian Railways rules, if a person is caught traveling on the roof of a train, he can be jailed for 3 months or fined Rs 500 under Section 156 of the Railway Act.

As per Indian Railway rules no person can broker tickets. If a person is caught doing so, he can be fined Rs 10,000 or jailed for 3 years under Section-143 of the Railway Act.
Sale of goods on railway premises
No goods can be sold in any railway premises in the country without prior permission. If caught in this crime, the accused can be fined up to 2 thousand rupees and 1 year in jail under section 144 of the Railway Act.
Travel in upper class compartment
If you are found traveling in a higher class compartment than the ticket you have, you can be punished under Section-138 of the Railway Act. For this, fare up to your maximum distance and a fine of Rs 250 may be charged. You can also be taken into custody for not paying this fine.
10 PM rule is applicable in Railways

The TTE will not be able to come to check the passenger's ticket after 10 pm.
All lights should be turned off except the night light.
Passengers traveling in groups will not be able to communicate after 10 pm.
If the co-passenger sitting in the middle berth wants to sleep in his seat, the passenger sitting in the lower berth cannot say anything.
Online food will not be served after 10 pm.
However, with e-catering services one can pre-order their meal or snacks in the train even at night.
Give priority to those on the waiting list
It is usually seen at the station that some people surround the TTE standing outside the coach and if you get close you can see and hear them demanding a berth from the TTE.
