Google Maps comes in handy as a “life saver” on unfamiliar roads. The tools provided in it help to reach the right path in less time. Google Maps also provides a tool that can save you from mishaps as well as traffic citations. This feature is used by very few people, about which we are going to tell you today.

The feature we are talking about is Google Map Speed Limit Warning. In it Google knows the speed of your vehicle and alerts you. In fact, we often exceed the speed limit while driving due to haste or some other reason, increasing the chances of an accident. Also, the speed cameras installed on the road deduct your currency. Often, after reaching home, we realize that we were driving too fast. In that case, this feature of Google Map will warn you when you cross the speed limit.

This is how to set speed limit in Google Maps

Step 1 :  To use the speed limit feature you need to have the latest version of “Google Maps”. For that, go to Google Play Store or Apple App Store and update it. Now follow the steps mentioned below.
Step 2 : Open Google Maps on your smartphone and tap on the profile icon on the right.
Step 3 : Now go to Settings option and tap on Navigation Settings.
Step 4 : Later tap on Speed Limit Setting option.

Step 5 : Now scroll down and go to driving option.
Step 6 : Here turn on the “Speed Limit and Speedometer” option.
Step 7 : All you have to do now is go to the home screen of Google Maps. Now you will get a notification when you cross the speed limit.

How to activate Google Map Speed Limit Warning Features

Update Google Maps:

Open your device's app store (Google Play Store for Android or App Store for iOS).

Search for "Google Maps" and check for any available updates. If an update is available, tap "Update" to install the latest version.

Turn on Location Services:

Go to your device's settings.

Find and select "Privacy" or "Location Services."

Ensure that Location Services or GPS is turned on.

Open Google Maps:

Tap the Google Maps icon on your device's home screen to launch the app.

Start Navigation:

Enter your destination by typing it into the search bar.

Tap "Directions" and then select "Start" to begin navigation.

View Speed Limit:

As you navigate, Google Maps should display the speed limit for the road you're on in the bottom corner of the app. Ensure your view isn't obstructed by other information on the screen.

Remember, Google Maps might not display speed limits for every road or in every location. The app usually shows the current speed and the speed limit on the screen during navigation.
